Amazing Luxor Adventure
Review of George Marsa Alam & Luxor Transportation

My wife and I are staying in Marsa Alam for two weeks and wanted to break up our holiday with a trip away. The options here are limited and a potential day coach tour to Luxor (taking 6/7 hours each way) looked exhausting. I stumbled across George online and got in touch with him. He got back straight away, refined my suggested itinerary and offered us a fair price for our bespoke tour. I booked a hotel in Luxor with Booking.com and we were all set. George kept in touch with us (via WhatsApp) in the build up and dealt with all the bureaucracy (you need a permit to travel across the desert to Luxor). On the day, Ahmed, our wonderful driver, was waiting for us at 0800 and we had a great drive (very comfortable car) over to Luxor (we arrived around 1300). George was waiting for us and greeted us warmly; he's a great character and genuinely determined to give you the best trip he can. Our private guide was introduced to us and we set off to visit Karnak and Luxor temples before heading for the river where our felucca was waiting for us for an hour and a half sunset cruise. Back on land George was there to ensure that all was well and Ahmed drove us to our hotel (Steigenberger Nile Palace; we booked a Nile view suite which was spoiling but not too expensive). We had time for baths/showers before a very good supper at the hotel followed by a great night's sleep. After breakfast, Ahmed was waiting for us outside and we had a morning visiting the stunning Medinet Habu Temple with our new guide (not too busy here and it's the best we saw) before heading off to the Valley of the Kings which was as memorable as ever (our third visit there). After this we headed home and got back around 1830 in time for drinks and supper at our hotel (Suneo reef).
I can't recommend George more highly. He has a great attention to detail and is very well connected. Our driver Ahmed was also terrific; you need a skilled and knowledgable driver for tis trip and he was great in every respect. You obviously pay a bit more for a private tour but it was worth every penny (your price includes all entry fees/permits etc). It was a great move to spend two days in Luxor; we never felt rushed and trying to cram it all in over 24 hours would have been too much. George is totally trustworthy and great fun too; he will do his very best for you and ensure that you have as memorable a trip as did we. George was an absolut professional!
George was very helpful and extremely professional in his work. We booked him for 3 days private transfers to all the sights in Luxxor and he was always 20 minutes earlier waiting outside our hotel. very professional, very helpful and very trustworthy! The best. I highly recommend him for private transfers!

George was awesome - that's all I can say! Safe friendly driver and very knowledgeable about Egypt. He is most accommodating to changes in schedule and places we wanted to go. I couldn't ask for more. His first goal is to make sure you get what you wanted out of your trip. He is Luxor native and knows it inside/out. Will definitely use him on our return trip.
My Experience with George Transportation Aug 2019
First off, I want to say I am the type that rarely takes the time to write a review. However, in this case I was very happy with the service/experience from George and his team. Due to flight delays my arrival dates kept changing and George was communicating with me constantly and assuring me he would have some one ready to pick me up from the Airport and provide all the planned itinerary. Once I finally arrived in Egypt, George and his team delivered without any problems. The team was on time, and provide a great experience. I not only used George and his team to take me around the sites in Luxor and Cairo, but I also had the team transport me from Luxor to Port Ghalib to catch my Liveaboard. I was initially worried about making the travel with someone I didn't know considering everything going on, but I was 100% happy with everything. I hope this review helps anyone that is on the fence in trying to decide if they can trust George and his team, as I was one of those people and can honestly say without a doubt use the service I was completely happy and would use again.
I am a pretty well travelled person, but this was my first trip to Egypt and was pretty worried thinking the worst could happen from a guy coming from the US, but I was completely wrong in some assumptions.
Great job and flexibility George.

Pünnktlichkeit gute Organisation Kompetenz von den Reiseleitern u.alles war organisiert.Wir mussten uns um nichts kümmern_sogar das Wasser wurde bei jedem Trip bereitgestellt.Herr George u.seine Leute sind sehr zu empfehlen für all die Touristen die etwas historisches in Egypten erlebenwollen.

We are 4 divers and have visited Egypt several times. This time in November, we wanted to see more of Egypt and to travel independently to Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada. So we needed transportation, visits and guides (eg overnight train Cairo to Luxor, minibus Luxor to Hurghada).
George and his team provided a truly excellent service, arranged beforehand by email but with plenty of flexibility on the spot. He was always available to help out, anytime of the day or night. Always with good humour. His guides were extremely well informed, very sociable and provided firm but gentle protection against touts and vendors. Price was good. Yes you can get things a bit cheaper coming to Egypt and arranging (I mean of course haggling) on the spot, but honestly, if you want peace of mind and someone you can really trust to deliver, then I would 100% recommend George.
And by the way everybody - Egypt is super safe, super welcoming. It is a great time to go with still not many tourists, and your visit would certainly help an economy which sadly (and unjustifiably) continues to struggle. Go !!

“Transport and sightseeing in Egypt”

Transport was arranged via email from Australia. George picked me up from Luxor Airport and arranged all my transfers to my hotel and Nile River Cruise. He organized and drove me to Abydos and Dandara Temples and arranged an Egyptologist - Emad, to ensure my experience was knowledgeable and fun. It was a 12hour day!

“A wonderful journey to the heart of Egypt”

My visit to Egypt with George and his team was one of the best trips I have ever been on in my life. As a solo female traveler I was a little bit worried about going to the temples alone and making arrangements. All my worrying was completely unnecessary. I left everything in the hands of George and his team. I emailed him my dates and what I was interested in and he put together the best program including all of the most impressive temples and monuments. George took care of everything from the minute I set foot in the Luxor Airport until I left four days later. For the down time he offered wonderful options for a better experience. Emad, my guide and Egyptologist, was incredibly knowledgeable about everywhere we visited. He was wonderful and engaging and had amusing anecdotes in addition to the rich history contained in the monuments we visited. The tour was tailored to my particular interests and I had the chance to experience the real Egyptian life. Hany did an incredible job with logistics and was very helpful with arranging travel. I started out as a guest, but now feel like I have family in Egypt and I cannot wait to return. I cannot recommend George and his team enough. Now is a great time to visit Egypt, it is very safe, and George and his team made it the experience of a life time. Highly recommended!

“Best vacation you could dream of”

George is an amazing guy! So thoughtful, considerate and dedicated. We have arrived in Egypt, and planned to go to Luxor, Marsa Alam and Hurghada by car. However, soon we realized that wasn't possible, because the traffic is really crowded. We have contacted George, who sent us a van to spend four day with us, picking us up on Luxor, going around Marsa Alam, Hurghada and coming back to Cairo. Bob is the egyptologist and partner of George, whose knowledge of history makes the trip to Luxor even better - he is passionate about the topic. Price very reasonable for the whole trip, and service well above all expectations...

Have been to Egypt for the first time with my family. Wife, son 17 years old, daughter 9 years old and my brother, 47. Airline tickets were acquired an year prior to the trip and getting close to the travel concerns about safety arose, but we kept the decision to go and contact George asking for suggestions / recommendations and prices for 2 days in Cairo and 1 day in Luxor. His attention to our inquiries exceeded our expectations since the first message exchanged. George proposed an agenda to cover the most important attractions giving the short term we would have in Cairo and Luxor. He provided details about what to do and why. We closed the deal with him and everything he promised and offered really happened. Since our arrival at Cairo international airport up to our departure we had a brilliant service. No issues with timing and assistance. The guides he provided to assist us during the tours were really experts on Egypt, its history, facts, culture and so on. Actually they are not just experts. They are really "masters" in Egypt. I highly recommend if any of TA members have plans to go to Egypt to contact George and ask him specially for Cairo for a guide called Wagih. We had a lifetime experience at Gize Pyramids with Wagih. His knowledge about there is from a Phd, not just from a tour guide. In Luxor we had the opportunity to meet George in person and had a dinner together. George is a very friendly person and in a couple of hours we learned more about Egypt and even planned another trip there to continue our journey for learning about our history, yes, our, because no doubts Egypt is one of the dawns of our civilization. Egypt belongs to the humankind as they use to say, not just for the Egyptians themselves.
We are very glad to have hired George for our tour in Cairo and Luxor and actually should have done the same for Sharm el Sheik as he has just started offering guided tours for Sharm, which is not just about beaches by the way.
What is really important to mention in this post also is how safe is Egypt for foreigners. It has been one of the most safe places I've ever been with my family and safe is above everything. It is completely wrong the image the media pass about Egypt. They may have their problems as any other country in the world has. Who could imagine that even in Norway there would be that massacre a couple of years ago? But frankly speaking, walking in Egypt you are always welcome by its people. They love foreigners. They stop you all the time to take pictures and even when you are walking and they realize you are a foreigner you listen a "welcome to my country".
Normally we don't go twice to the same place as there are so many to be seen all over the world, but Egypt deserves not just a second time, but a 3rd and so on and it is great to know George is there to help with a high standard of customer care.

our family of 4 was on holiday in marsa alam and we went for a daytrip to luxor. all arrangements were made by george and we had a perfect day. the driver to and from luxor was very good and safe, the english speaking guide in luxor was excellent and made us understand everything.
we went to valley of the kings, hatsjeptut memorial, agamemnon statues,
we crossed the nile in a boat and after that we visited karnak temple.
beautiful, very impressive.
we met george in a local cafe, had a cup of tea together and drove back to marsa alam after a long but wonderful day. thanks to george. do not hesitate to contact him if you want a super luxor trip

You can't missLuxor when you are in Egypt.
I've been there last few month ago and had a fantastic day.
We came from Marsa Alam and Eeven the drive was nice, the scenery is beautiful sometimes
We went to Luxor with George from George Marsa Alam & Luxor transportation and tours.
It's a private tour so you can stop whenever u want and stay as long as you want.
Transportation was in a good comfortable car with a good and safe driver.
All was arranged in Luxor, entrance, guide, lunch, transportation, boat ride or horse carriadge ride and the price we pay was reasonable.
At the end of the afternoon George even took us to a local coffeeshop for a drink, we really enjoyed that so much.
We go back next March and will use George for our transfers and tours again.

We did our transfers and tours with George Marsa Aam & Luxor Transportation during our visit in Luxor few weeks ago and we enjoyed it very much.
They replied my all my emails very fast and patiently answered all my questions.
Everything was well arranged and on time. They have safe, comfortable airconditioned cars. On our tours we had a really good guide with also a nice sence of humor. We like the fact that your program is tailor made and that we have for lunch the choice between Egypt and International food.
George also took us to a local coffeehouse for coffee, tea or softdrink on our last day, we liked that so much.
Overall we had an perfect time and we found it good value for money.
We will not hesitate to use his service again next time.

I have been to Luxor in a one day trip by private car with driver. It was really worth the long (but interesting) drive and we visit east & westbank.
But next time, we go back in march, I will stay overnight in Luxor because you have more time to visit the sites and also time to relax on a boattrip on the Nile.
We had George (George Marsa Alam & Luxor transportation) as our driver and will do that agian next march becouse he is a good and safe driver, a nice person and he's is from Luxor so he knows all ins and outs.
Taxi arrived on time, clean comfortable modern taxi with A/C we had Mr George as our driver for the day, He could not have been more caring and conscientious ensuring that we were looked after and enjoyed our trip.He had all the appropriate paperwork for check points and also added some amusing local knowledge and information (that you may not get with the tour operators)
We are planning to go back to Marsa Alam soon and personally would not hesitate to arrange privately with this company should we wish another similar type trip

I'm also one of the persons who put a good comment on tripadvisor earlier.
But really i do that because we had a perfect daytrip to Luxor and want to share that with others.
I always like to use a local company instead of a big touroperator.
We also had George as our driver and we felt comfortable and safe the whole day.
He is a very nice person
We come back to Marsa Alam March next year and will use them again for transfer and daytrips.
For my second trip to marsa alam I decided to organise the taxi transfer beforehand. I had no desire to barter after a tiring trip. I am glad I did. George was waiting for me with my name on a board. When we exited the airport I was surprised at how hot it was. Luckily George had a nice comfortable car with good air conditioning. George was a delight to talk with. He also gave me some tips about my hotel.
On the return journey, George was promptly at the hotel. The car was nice and cool. I enjoyed our brief chat onwards to the airport. Next time I come to marsa alam I will call you guys again! Thank you so much for your comfortable and reliable collections.

Hi, maybe I'm late, but as far as my experience is concerned, I was very satisfied with his service.
I used Stevens Taxi for the airport transfer and the driver George was very very kind and nice, punctual and they have very goood prices.

Hi. I have been in Marsa Alam last march en september.
In march did a daytrip to Luxor, which really was great.
We enjoyed the drive trough the desert and in Luxor we visit the East and West Bank and also sailed on the Nile.
We never had any issues and had a fantastic day.
Last september we went to Shalateen also and really enjoyed that too. You pass some military checkpoints but really no trouble at all. Not so many people visit there so its a good oppportunity to see the local live.
Both times we had George, who is from Luxor, (George Transportation Luxor Marsa Alam) as our driver and he did a fantastic job.

Really there is so many to see in Luxor that one day is not enough. But you can see the highlight but you need more days to see all. So stay some days or go back on your next visit.
We also did some tour with George. Also a daytrip to Luxor. We had really good experience with him and his company. Comfortable airco car, save driver and always nice and friendly. When we go to Egypt next time we will definitely book with him again.
